Car Yard Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Car Yard Manager to lead our used vehicle operations at our Henderson dealership. It is a full-time role with minimum guranteed 30 hrs per week which may go upto 40 hrs per week. The salary range os $30-$36 based on the experience.  

🔧 Key Responsibilities

As a Car Yard Manager, your role will include:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the used car yard.

• Supervising and motivating a team of salespeople, yard staff, and vehicle detailers.

• Ensuring vehicles are prepared, displayed, and presented to a high standard.

• Managing stock — purchasing, pricing, stock rotation, and aging.

• Overseeing test drives, trade-ins, customer queries, and complaints.

• Liaising with clients to determine their needs and providing customers with advice and information regarding vehicle type, purchase or hire rates and obligations and handling complaints. 

• Working with the finance and service departments to streamline processes.

• Meeting monthly sales targets and KPIs.

• Ensuring compliance with NZTA and dealership regulations.

• Ensuring compliance of health and safety measures.

✅ Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience or a relevant Level 4 qualification or higher (e.g., NZQF Diploma or above) .

• Sound understanding of the used car market and consumer trends.

• Proven leadership and staff management experience.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

• Full NZ Driver’s Licence.

• Familiarity with dealer management systems (DMS) is preferred.
