Chefs Required

We are opening an Indian Restaurant and Bar in Drury Auckland.  The job is full time (30 hours each week) and hourly rate offered is $25/hr to $30.00/hr based on your experince. Your key duties will involve:

Job duties:

Manage kitchen operations and ensure that kitchens works smoothly

Train, hire and supervise kitchen staff from time to time

Ensure all the essential food preparation, seasoning and cooking is done to the maximum standards

Order stock and ensure there is minimum wastage

Resolve customer complaints

Plan and update menu from time to time

Maintain Tandoor (Charcoal Oven) in working state

Maintain and ensure food quality at all times

Store food in temperature-controlled facilities

Maintaining hygiene at all times

Stocktaking and reporting it to the owners

Ensure kitchen is clean as required by NZ standards

Resolve food related issues in discussion with the manager

Candidate requirements:

At least two-three years of relevant experience or a level 4 in cookery

Able to work on weekends and public holidays

Able to work till 11 pm in the evening.

Knowledge of Indian cuisine is a must

No criminal history
