Number of positions: 1

Type: Permanent, Full time 

Days required: Rotating roster, including weekends

Hours per week: 30 to 40 hours per week

Hourly Pay: $35 – $45  per hour

As an Automotive Machinist, your main duties and responsibilities are to 

  • Reconditioning of the engines Japanese, American and European origins

  • Making new parts for engines up to about 15 litres size

Other duties include: 

  • Operating boring machines and grinders

  • Dismantle engines or engine components

  • Cleaning parts, diagnosing faults, measuring parts and assessing repairs & parts required crack testing

  • Machining engine parts:

  • Reboring &machine honing of cylinders

  • Resurfacing of cylinder blocks, heads & manifolds

  • Reconditioning of conrods

  • Fitting & Measuring bearings

  • Replacement of valve seat inserts

  • Refacing of valves and valve seats

  • Engine Assembly
