A leading hospitality venue located on the stunning West Coast of New Zealand is seeking a hands-on and experienced Bar Duty Manager to join their busy team. Set within a popular tourist destination, this property offers a dynamic environment catering to a wide range of travellers with accommodation, food, beverage, and entertainment services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day bar and restaurant operations during rostered shifts

  • Ensure smooth service delivery and a high standard of guest experience

  • Uphold host responsibility and liquor licensing compliance under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act

  • Supervise hospitality staff and provide on-the-floor leadership

  • Monitor venue presentation, music, lighting, and ambience

  • Handle guest complaints and provide timely resolution

  • Manage cash handling, end-of-day banking, and venue reporting

  • Prepare for and support promotional nights and seasonal events

  • Perform Duty Manager responsibilities as rostered

About You:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a bar or hospitality supervisory role

  • Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills

  • Sound understanding of bar operations, customer service, and staff supervision

  • Eligible to obtain a New Zealand Duty Manager Certificate (support available after arrival)

  • Previous experience in tourism-driven environments is advantageous

Hours & Pay:

  • Full-time (minimum 30 hours per week)

  • Pay rate: NZD $28.50–$32.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

  • Shift-based roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
