· Location: Wairau Valley, Auckland

· Employment Type: Permanent Full-time

· Days Required: Monday to Sunday on a roster

· Wage: 25 to 39 before tax

· Hours per week: A minimum of 30 hours a week guaranteed, a maximum of 40 hours a week

About Us:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to take charge of our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent culinary skills, strong leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food production, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and supervising a team of kitchen and waiting staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan menus in consultation with management, taking into account customer preferences and dietary requirements.

  • Estimate food and labour costs and manage inventory to ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Order and maintain adequate supplies of food and ingredients.

  • Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.

  • Collaborate with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen/wait staff to resolve any food preparation issues.

  • Demonstrate proper cooking techniques and advise team members on culinary procedures and recipes.

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the menu.

  • Ensure all food handling, preparation, and storage complies with hygiene and food safety regulations.

  • Enforce kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards.

  • May be involved in the selection, supervision, and training of kitchen staff.

  • May be responsible for freezing and preserving foods as required

     

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant diploma in culinary arts or a minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required. (Either one will do)
