 The minimum and maximum rate of pay or salary: $25-$30/hr. before tax

 The minimum guaranteed hours of work per week: 30hrs

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with recipes and food safety standards, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction through attention to detail and consistent food presentation.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

·       Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and meet quality standards

·       Follow standardized recipes, including accurate measuring, weighing, and mixing of ingredients

·       Prepare and cook a variety of foods by grilling, steaming, boiling, or frying meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other dishes

·       Season food appropriately during cooking to enhance flavour

·       Portion, present, garnish, and arrange final dishes attractively

·       Occasionally serve food to guests when required

·       Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements and accommodate guest requests

·       Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and kitchen equipment

·       Monitor inventory levels at assigned stations and inform management when supplies are low

·       Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment

·       Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe work environment by cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils

·       Store food in temperature-controlled facilities to preserve quality

·       Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times

·       Execute daily opening and closing kitchen procedures

·       May assist in planning menus and estimating food requirements

·       May train and support other kitchen staff or apprentices

 

 The minimum qualification and work experience requirements:
 ·       Relevant NZQF Level 3 qualification OR
 ·       At least one years of relevant work experience

 Other skills required:
 ·       Proficiency in the kitchen
 ·       Good communication with other staff and customer service skills.
 ·       Attention to detail
 ·       Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards.
 ·       Ability to work efficiently
 ·       Flexible to work with a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
