Hi5 Basketball Club is an inclusive, fast-growing organization focused on youth and community engagement. We provide expert coaching for primary to college-aged kids, developing skills, sportsmanship, and wellbeing. We're hiring a passionate Basketball Promoting Officer to lead outreach, grow participation, deliver programs, and represent Hi5 in schools and local groups. Key Responsibilities
- Promote and coordinate grassroots basketball programs in schools and community hubs
- Build and maintain relationships with local Asian community groups and schools
- Promote basketball participation among underrepresented groups, such as low-income families, ethnic minorities, disabled youth and girls, through targeted community outreach.
- Plan and deliver basketball events, including tournaments, holiday programs, and brand-linked campaigns, regionally, nationally and internationally.
- Assist with coaching support, game education, and player development
- Coordinate program logistics, promotion, and participant engagement
- Represent Hi5 at events, training days and community activities
- Maintain a social media presence on Hi5 programmes and services.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sport development, youth work or event coordination
- The ability to actively engage in on-court/on-field coaching and development
- Comfortable working on the court with teams, coaches, and players
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect with culturally diverse communities
- Good time management and event coordination skills
- Experience using social media for social marketing
- A record of successfully planning and implementing the delivery of sports opportunities and events.
- A background in professional basketball player will be viewed favourably.
- Able to travel locally and abroad for work-related events or projects.
- Willing to obtain police vetting and First Aid certificate
