Job Description: Site Manager (Horticulture)

Position Available: Site Manager
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Bay of Plenty Region
Payrate: $30 per hour
Minimum Hours of Work Per Week: 35
Maximum Hours of Work Per Week: 45

Key Requirements:

• At least Level 4 or above qualification, OR at least 2 years or more of experience.

• Proven ability to supervise and coordinate teams in orchard, crop, or plantation environments

• Strong knowledge of crop production cycles, machinery use, and health & safety regulations

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day horticultural tasks.

• Oversee workforce on multiple sites, manage rosters, and ensure productivity and compliance with work plans

• Monitor crop health, environmental conditions, pest and disease risks, and initiate corrective action where required

• Ensure safe and efficient use of machinery, tools, and equipment; enforce site health and safety protocols

• Train staff in best practice horticultural techniques and standard operating procedures

• Maintain accurate records for labour, production metrics, equipment use, and incident reports

• Provide regular progress updates to senior management and contribute to seasonal planning
