Position: Cook (Indian Cuisine)

Number of positions: 3 permanent positions

Location: Northland (Whangarei)

Rate per hour: $25.50 to $30 per hour

Minimum hours per week: 30.00 hrs / week.

Qualifications: must hold a level 4 qualification in cookery with 1 year experinece or 3 year of experience in North Indian and South Indian cuisine

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspects and selects ingredients for cooking
  • Measures, cleans, chops, blends, seasons, heats and cools food
  • Monitors food cooking processes to ensure proper cooking and presentation
  • Coordinates, supervises and collaborates with kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking
  • Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Monitors and maintains inventory of food supplies and equipment
  • Assists in the development of new recipes and menu items
  • Prepare and cook a variety of North and South Indian dishes
  • Ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Follow all safety and hygiene standards
