Location: Napier, Hawke’s Bay

Employment Type: Full-time (guaranteed 32 hours / per week), Permanent

Our pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour

We are a reputable restaurant based in Napier.

We are now looking for 3 Chefs to enhance our team. We are expecting someone who has a passion for customer service, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be a proactive member of the team.

You are required to:

  1. Planning menu items, participating in the organisation of ordering, cost controlling and wastage of food
  2. Prepare and create a variety of India Food dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  3. Checking and monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
  4. Determining how food should be presented, and creating decorative food displays
  5. Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff
  6. Estimating amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients
  7. Implementing and following strict rules of personal hygiene and ensure machinery is operated, cleaned and stored correctly; kitchen drawers and shelves are cleaned and tidy
  8. Complying with all Company Policies and legal requirements with special reference to
  9. Health and Safety to ensure all procedures: Health and Safety, and Food Safety
  10. Management are maintained to the required standards
  11. Participating in selecting and training new/current kitchen staff whenever it is required

To be successful you will need:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the same field; OR
  • Have a relevant level 4 or equivalent qualification/certificate.
  • Good eye for detail and an ability to learn fast.
  • A "can-do" attitude.
