Job Description:
Hello Vietnam, a well-established Vietnamese restaurant in Christchurch, is seeking a skilled and passionate chef to join our kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone experienced in authentic Vietnamese cuisine and who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook authentic Vietnamese dishes to a high standard
Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control
Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards
Supervise and train kitchen staff
Manage food preparation during busy service periods
Involved in menu development and special dish creation as needed
Monitor stock levels and order ingredients
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
Job Pre-requisites:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a Vietnamese kitchen AND/OR a Level 4 certificate or higher in cookery or related culinary training
Proficient in preparing a wide variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes
Ability to work under pressure and multitask
Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
