This job requires performing:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Consulting with customers to plan the working area or covered space
  • Estimating required carpet quantities by measuring work areas
  • Preparing working surfaces by removing baseboard trims
  • Preparing the underlay mat by measuring, cutting, and fixing
  • Laying carpet, Linoleum, and underlays over the working areas
  • Cutting shapes around fixtures and trimming edges
  • Fitting and securing carpet with edge trims might require coverings
  • Might carry out flooring repairs, patching, and replacements
  • Collaborate with other trades across project delivery
  • Complete documentation, job records, and client handovers
  • Deliver high-quality finishes that meet safety and spec standards
  • Other relevant works assigned by the employer.

About the applicant

The applicant must meet the following requirements to apply for this job:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience OR NZQF Level 4 qualification;
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team;
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Working under pressure;
  • Positive attitude and good work ethic;
  • Be physically fit.
