Universal Marketing Co. Limited started the restaurant business in March 2003. Currently, we have ten branches around Auckland and Hamilton. Due to the business requirement, we are seeking five full-time pastrycooks to join our team.

As a pastrycook, you will be working minimum of 30 hours per week on a roster. 

Job Description:

  • Conduct inspections of kitchen equipment and facilities prior to production to ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Evaluate the quality of raw ingredients and perform precise measurement of materials to ensure consistency.
  • Prepare dough by kneading, maturing, cutting, molding, mixing, and shaping to meet production standards.
  • Ensure all cooking equipment is thoroughly cleaned and properly maintained after each use.
  • Collaborate with management, kitchen personnel, and service staff on food preparation activities, including dough-making and ingredient marination.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in crafting traditional handmade Chinese pastries.
  • Implement and communicate hygiene and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Manage food preservation processes, including freezing and appropriate storage techniques.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by supervisors or management as required.

About you: 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstration of good character with no criminal record is essential.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience or Relevant NZQF level 4 or above qualification
