Due to the business requirement, we need 1 full time Bookkeeper to join our business urgently in Wellington.
We prefer the candidate:
2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial best practices
Proficiency in Xero, payroll systems, and MS Excel
Adaptable to change and able to do multiple tasks by cooperating with team members
Able to work under pressure to meet job deadline
Must accept flexible hours of work to cope with heavy workload on weekends
Duties and responsibilities:
Maintain precise financial records using both manual and computerized systems, including inputting invoices/receipts, performing data entry,and assigning codes.
Conduct reconciliations of accounts against daily/weekly/monthly bank statements to verify accuracy.
Generate invoices, purchase orders, and manage accounts receivable.accounts payable, and bank deposits.
Compile and generate financial statements, budget reports, and expenditure analyses on a monthly basis or as requested by management.
Report any irregularities, such as non-operational expenditures, to management and provide explanations as needed.
Calculate wages and salaries, and produce payslips for employees.
Assist the accountant with GST calculations.
