We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Baker to join our team. We are a small artisan bakery with a genuine interest in preserving and perfecting the artisan baking craft. If you have professional baking experience and a special love for the industry, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Keep the bakery area clean and organised. Ensure all equipment is maintained and cleaned according to health and safety regulations.
- Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
- Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
- Preparing pastry fillings
- Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
- Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
- Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
- Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
- Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
- Interact with customers if needed, answering questions and providing information
about baked goods. - Other duties as requested by Management.

- Positive attitude, building rapport with colleagues and ability to thrive under pressure.
- Communication skills, decision making and handling issues professionally.
- Great presentation and Personal Hygiene, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- 3 years relevant experience / and or Level 4 or higher Qualification preferred
To be considered for this role you must be in NZ, and either be an NZ resident, citizen or have the legal right to work in NZ full time.
