Job Description:
Extrastaff, a Labour Hire Company, is hiring 50 full-time Structural Steel Fabricators for deployment on infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand. This role involves the placement, securing, and tying of structural steel components as specified by engineering plans, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with safety standards. Positions are full-time and permanent, with site location based on project demand.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interpret engineering plans and drawings to accurately place and secure structural steel components
* Tie reinforcement steel using correct techniques for various reinforcement systems
* Collaborate with site teams to ensure timely and safe installation of steelwork
* Comply with all health, safety, and quality standards on-site
* Work efficiently within large construction teams under strict deadlines
Skills and Experience Required:
* Minimum 3 years' experience working with structural steel placement and reinforcement tying (local or overseas)
* Ability to read and work from technical and engineering drawings
* Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity
* Knowledge of safety procedures and quality control in steel construction
* Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure construction projects preferred
* Relevant trade experience or qualifications advantageous
Nationwide Opportunity: Although this role is listed in Auckland, we are recruiting for 50 positions to be deployed across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. Applicants must be willing to travel or relocate within the country as needed.
