We are currently seeking reliable and full-time Roof Workers to join our team. Starting pay offered from $30-$33 hourly will be fixed according to the skills and experience for 30-50 hours a week. However, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid as per above payrate. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of related tasks, including:

  • Assist with installation and waterproofing of roofing systems (metal, membrane, tile) on timber-framed buildings.
  • Measure, cut, and position roof flashings, underlays, and insulation materials using appropriate tools.
  • Safely access roof structures using scaffolds, harnesses, and edge protection, in compliance with WorkSafe NZ regulations.
  • Connect roof drainage components such as gutters and downpipes under direction.
  • Identify and report roof structure defects, leaks, or alignment issues during installation.
  • Work with carpenters and site crews to support roofing and framing phases, and help with other construction tasks as needed.
  • Maintain roofing tools and materials in good condition, and prepare work areas as required.

 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  1. Minimum two years' experience in scaffolding, welding, or related construction trades with transferable skills relevant to roofing. Roofing experience (installation, repair, or waterproofing) is preferred but not essential.
  2. Must be comfortable working at heights, as the role involves high-altitude work.
  3. Must be available to work early mornings and weekends (based on work arrangement).
  4. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
  5. Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
  6. Pre-employed drug test and police check is required.
