We seek a dedicated and experienced Grower to oversee and manage all aspects of our farming operations. The main region of work will be Auckland, and the person will be responsible for the following duties:

Key Responsibilities

  • Crop Planning & Scheduling
    Design and implement effective crop schedules to optimize growing cycles, improve yields, and maintain high standards of produce quality.

  • Soil & Irrigation Management
    Regularly assess soil conditions, manage irrigation systems efficiently, and oversee the appropriate application of fertilizers and pesticides to ensure optimal crop health.

  • Team Supervision & Training
    Lead and manage daily activities of farm personnel, providing direction, training, and enforcing health and safety standards to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

  • Harvesting & Post-Harvest Operations
    Coordinate harvesting activities, including the sorting, grading, and packaging of crops to ensure they meet market quality standards.

  • Equipment & Infrastructure Maintenance
    Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of farm machinery and glasshouse systems, scheduling necessary repairs to prevent downtime.

  • Operational Record-Keeping
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on crop performance, input usage, pest control, and financial transactions for both compliance and strategic planning.

  • Budget & Cost Management
    Track farm-related expenses, prepare budget forecasts, and manage resources to ensure financially responsible and sustainable operations.

  • Regulatory Compliance
    Ensure all agricultural activities are conducted in accordance with relevant environmental, safety, and government regulations.

  • Innovation & Technology Integration
    Stay informed about advancements in agricultural practices and technology, and integrate innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.

  • Stakeholder Engagement
    Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and customers, aligning production with market demand and supporting a reliable supply chain.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

  • Relevant bachelor's degree (Equivalent to Level 7) in the absence of work experince
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.

  • Physically fit and capable of handling demanding outdoor work and manual labour.

  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong leadership qualities and a proactive, hardworking attitude.
