Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic

Five Star HVAC Ltd is an Auckland-based company. We are looking for multiple Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanics to join us. This is a full time role with a minimum 30 hours per week.

This role aims to assemble, install, maintain and repair industrial, commercial and domestic air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

· Conduct the task to establish the job requirements from drawings and specifications.

· Conduct the task to lay out installation reference points

· Drilling holes, installing mounting brackets and cutting, bending and threading piping and all connection pipelines.

· Install and repair components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches and gauges, and pipelines for steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, etc

· Bolting, soldering, riveting, welding and brazing pipes to connect equipment and checking alignment and accuracy of fit

· Conduct the leak check for the filling systems with gas or fluid.

· Conduct the task of testing refrigeration systems, checking mechanisms and making adjustments.

· Conduct the task of removing test gas and fluid using relevant equipment.

· Checking and overhauling refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults, repairing and replacing defective components

· Conduct the task of recording causes of malfunctioning and action taken

· Adjusting system controls and mechanisms and reassembling systems

The successful candidate must have:

At least two, ideally three years of relevant work experience or a formal relevant certificate level qualification. (NZQF Level 4) or above

Good work attitude and good communication skills

Strong motivation

Physical fitness and could handle the heavy workload

Quality workmanship and eye for detail

Strong dedication to health and workplace safety

Excellent interpersonal skills to work with other team members.

Strong ability to work independently
