Fieldmaxx Produce Ltd is a well-established and fast-growing horticulture business in Auckland. We are currently seeking two dedicated Machine Operators who are also willing to carry out a variety of physically demanding labour duties as part of the farm team.

Position: Machine Operator
Hourly Rate: $26 - 28.00 per hour depending on experience
Guaranteed Hours: 30 per week
Maximum Hours: Up to 70 per week during peak seasons
Location: Auckland

Responsibilities

·         Operate tractors, sprayers, slashers, mulchers, forklifts, and harvesters across the farm

 

·         Attach and calibrate implements such as seeders, bed formers, and fertiliser spreaders

 

·         Apply chemical sprays and fertilisers using boom sprayers or other equipment

 

·         Use GPS-guided and precision farming technology where applicable

 

·         Operate irrigation and pumping systems

 

·         Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on all farm machinery

 

·         Carry heavy loads including crates, irrigation pipes, and farm equipment

 

·         Perform farm maintenance such as fencing, clearing, drainage, and cleaning machinery

 

·         Early morning starts (as early as 4:00 AM) and long shifts during peak periods

 

·         Work in all weather conditions including rain, heat, and wind

 

·         Follow all health and safety rules including proper use of PPE and chemical handling

 

·         Work independently and in a team environment, following supervisor instructions

 

Requirements

·         Valid New Zealand Class 1 or equivalent driver’s licence

·         Sound mechanical understanding and ability to troubleshoot minor machinery faults

·         Physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, and standing for long periods

·         Reliable, punctual, and committed to hard work, especially during harvest time

·         Able to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays if required

·         Must be able to drive manual gearbox
