LK Electrical Limited is a trusted provider of electrical, air conditioning, and refrigeration services based in Auckland. We specialize in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial electrical systems, as well as heating and cooling solutions. We now need an Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic to join our busy team and deliver top-level service to our clients.

This is a full-time position, with 30 guaranteed hours of work every week, but normally we should have around 40 hours workload for you.

The tasks of this role include:

l Read plans and drawings to understand what work needs to be done and mark where things should be installed

l Drill holes, install brackets, and cut or bend pipes to fit

l Install and fix parts like compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges, and pipes for steam, gas, refrigerant, air, oil, and cold water

l Connect equipment by bolting, soldering, welding, or brazing pipes and check that everything is lined up properly

l Fill systems with gas or liquid to check for any leaks

l Test how the refrigeration system runs and adjust if needed

l Remove test gas or liquid using a vacuum pump, then refill with the right refrigerant

l Find problems in the system, fix or replace broken parts, and carry out regular maintenance

l Adjust settings and controls, then put the system back together

l Keep records of what went wrong and how it was fixed

 

Requirements for this role:

l At least two years of relevant work experience

l A certificate in a relevant field, or a Bachelor’s degree in any major, can replace the work experience requirement

l Be punctual and responsible

l Be hardworking — your earnings will reflect your effort

l Able to work both independently and as part of a team

l Must be able to arrange own transportation
