Job Title: Cabinet Maker

Hours per week: 30 - 50 hours per week

Hourly Rate: from $29.66 - $35.00

 

Responsibilities:

· Review and understand design plans and specifications to know what needs to be built and how.

· Read and interpret cabinetry plans accurately, then measure and cut wood to create high-quality cabinets using both hand tools and machines.

· Work with different materials like wood, veneers, and engineered wood throughout the process of making/fabricating and installing cabinetry.

· Fabricate, assemble and install cabinetry as required from drawings and specifications.

· Making fittings for cabinetry and other items where fine detail is required, might involve making frames for chairs and couches.

· Apply protective coatings to cabinetry.

· Assemble parts to form sections of cabinetry and complete articles.

· Install associated hardware, such as hinges, locks, catches, drawers, shelves, etc.

· Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.

· Maintain and operate woodworking tools and machinery.

· Must comply with safety and health regulations in NZ.

· May include repairing and refurbishing furniture and antiques and making reproduction furniture.

 

Requirements for this role:

· 2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification.

· Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.

· Must be flexible to meet the early morning and late-night shifts.

· Ability work well and hard under pressure, independently and in a team.

· Physically fit in any conditions - hot, cold, dusty, indoors or outdoors.

· Long-term, full-time commitments needed.

· Able to pass a police check and a drug test.
