CGC Construction Ltd is an Auckland-based construction company. We are looking for a tiler to join us due to business needs. This is full-time with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Tasks include:

  • Examining plans, measuring and marking surfaces, and laying out work to ensure accurate tile placement

  • Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and thoroughly cleaning surfaces

  • Applying waterproofing systems to walls, floors, and wet areas (such as bathrooms, laundries, and kitchens) to prevent water penetration and ensure long-term durability of tiled surfaces

  • Ensuring waterproofing membranes are applied in accordance with building codes and manufacturer specifications

  • Conducting water testing or inspections to verify waterproofing effectiveness before tiling begins

  • Spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and setting tiles in position precisely

  • Using tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles for edges, corners, and around objects such as fittings and pipes

  • Ensuring tiles are correctly aligned, evenly spaced, and level

  • Grouting tiles, cleaning surfaces, and removing excess grout for a clean finish

  • May lay floors of granolithic, terrazzo, cement, or similar composition

  • May create decorative patterns or mosaics using colored tiles

Job pre-requisites: 

  • Proven 2 years’ relevant working experience or more 

  • Relevant qualifications are preferable but not a must

  • Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.

  • physically capable of performing heavy work be able to work overtime 

  • excellent work ethics and great time management passion for the industry.

  • The successful candidate must not have any criminal convictions

  • Valid drive license
