TAM LONG888 LIMITED, established in March 2018, operates ZOZO Restaurant in Tauranga. Our restaurant specialises in both traditional and modern Asian cuisine, with a strong focus on showcasing the vibrant and diverse flavours of Vietnam to both locals and tourists. To support our growing operations and address ongoing staff shortages, we are seeking talented chefs to join our dynamic and fast-paced kitchen team.
What we offer:
Full-time permanent roles - 30 minimum guaranteed work hour per week
The rate of pay or salary: $28.00/hr - $30.00/hr before tax depending on depending on backgrounds and experience
About the role
Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of Vietnamese cuisine and hands-on experience in its preparation. They should be adept at working on the hotline and display flexibility with scheduling, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays. Successful applicants will be driven, thrive in a high-energy kitchen environment, and have a true passion for crafting beloved dishes.
Key responsibilities and tasks
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the recipes and standards of Kitchen
- Handle high quality ingredients with the best culinary knowledge in preparation and cooking
- Engaging in the creation and development of new dishes and menus.
- Coordinate with other Chef to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes.
- Managing and training any kitchen assistant working with you
- Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the section during service times.
- Maintain clear communication to ensure a smooth workflow, a positive work environment, and effective solutions to any issues or challenges.
- Quality and Hygiene Control
- Inventory and Ordering
- Keep your work areas, equipment, and the kitchen consistently organized, sanitized, and spotless.
- Uphold the best endeavour during your work hour
- Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
Requirements and skills:
- A minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced environment, OR a relevant Level 4 or higher qualification in Culinary Arts or Cookery
- Having prior work experience in cooking Vietnamese cuisine would be an advantage
- Be able to work confidently and independently
- Good cooperation and communication within the team environment
- The ability to perform under extreme pressure.
- Knowledge of prevailing regulations on Hygiene
- Available to work rostered shifts, particularly during weekends, and public holidays as needed.
