Supercut Engineering Limited based in Auckland is a well-equipped steel structural facility offering a range of structural engineering services all around New Zealand. We are looking for six Fabricator Welders to join our growing logistics team.

You will be expected to work at the company’s premise in Onehunga and may also be directed to work at other sites within the Auckland region. This job requires you to work a minimum of 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to work on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $27.00 - $30.00 based on the candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.

  • Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock.

  • Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.

  • Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering.

  • Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instrument.

  • Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting

  • Examining welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision

  • Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions

  • Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding.

  • Compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Having 2-year experience in fabricating or welding operations.

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
