We are looking for an Experienced Wall & Floor Tiler to join our expert team. We undertake a VERY high level of workmanship across all aspects of the trade and the successful applicant will need to match and maintain these high levels. We contract to a number of Award winning building companies across the Taupo area using a range of quality materials including Natural stone, mosaics, porcelain & ceramic tiles on various substrates.
Wall & Floor Tiling work including
- Examining plans,
- Measuring and marking surfaces and laying out work
- Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces
- Spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and setting tiles in position
- Using tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges and corners, and around objects such as fittings and pipes
- Ensuring tiles are correctly aligned and spaced
- Grouting tiles, and cleaning and removing excess grout
- Applying waterproofing systems
- Mainly bathrooms & kitchen Splashbacks
- Screeding & laying sloping shower floors
- Tile trim fitting
- Mitred external corners
Must have:
Trade Certification or evidence of extensive experience over a number of years. *NZQF Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) Registration or licensing may be required. NZ Citizenship or a valid work visa to work in New Zealand Experience and confidence in working unsupervised to a high level MUST be able to work alone on site and to a scheduled deadline Understand the pressures of our industry with presentation of the Final finish as the utmost importance Clean & Tidy appearance A positive attitude and mindset Excellent communication skills An impeccable eye for detail Pride in a job well done A Full NZ drivers Licence Own vehicle (but not essential) Own tools are a huge benefit (but not essential) References & a portfolio of images from previous jobs
