We're looking for people to join our team full-time (minimim 30 hours per week) in Security Consultant and Senior Security Consultant roles based in our Wellington office.
Are you looking to take the next step in your cybersecurity career? Are you keen to develop your technical skills in a challenging and exciting role, with a dynamic and successful New Zealand business?
About us
Bastion is the recently formed group of ZX Security, Quantum Security, Helix Security and Cassini. We offer a wide range of cyber security consulting services to a large proportion of New Zealand and international businesses. The work we do helps secure critical infrastructure, banks, telcos, the energy sector and technology companies.
The role
This is a fast-paced and varied role. You’ll be working closely with a range of interesting, complex and rewarding clients that have a variety of risks and future maturity goals. Our clients range from small kiwi-owned businesses to well-known public sector organisations.
We are looking for people to join our team full-time (minimum 30-hours per week) in Security Consultant and Senior Security Consultant roles based in our Wellington office. You’ll be involved in:
- Delivering client projects, including scoping, scheduling, quality assurance and delivery.
- Documenting internal processes and procedures.
- Establishing and maintaining your domain-level expertise.
- Identifying new opportunities with existing or new clients.
What we’re looking for
We’d be keen to speak to you if you have 1-5 years’ experience in the cybersecurity industry. We’re looking for someone that’s resilient and empathetic, with a drive to continuously improve.
The main skills we look for are below, and a role with Bastion might be a good fit for you if you have some of these. Don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes; for the right candidates, we’ll provide training and on-the-job learning in a supportive team environment:
Cybersecurity knowledge: you have a passion for cybersecurity, and you’re able to explain security fundamentals. You might hold one or more security certifications (such as OSCP, OSCE, CREST, GPEN, GWAPT, GXPN, or GMOB OWSE).
- Critical thinking skills: you’re good at analysing information, asking questions, and solving problems.
- Service delivery skills: you manage your time effectively, you can take ownership of projects or tasks to deliver work on time, and you take the initiative to get stuff done.
- Communication skills: you can effectively communicate your knowledge to a range of people, whether that’s giving a presentation, talking on the phone, or writing a report or email.
- Sales and people management: Not all our consultants take on sales or people management responsibilities, but if you have an interest in these areas, we can help you to develop your skills.

In return, you will join a team of industry-leading professionals, in a role with plenty of opportunity for growth and development. The perks of being part of the Bastion team include:
- Competitive remuneration package and quarterly profit share scheme
- Supportive and fun work environment, great team culture and regular social events
- Substantial training budget, study time allowance and regular team training sessions
