About Us
We are an established company supplying packaging solutions for food, medical and industrial applications. The company's markets are primarily Australia and New Zealand. The business sources input materials from around the world. We are now seeking an experienced Import and Export Clerk to join us.
Key Responsibilities:
Export and Outbound Logistics Coordination
· Identify items and containers of incoming and outgoing shipments, verify them against consignment records, and coordinate with the sales team to ensure outgoing shipments meet customer delivery requirements.
· Coordinate with the dispatch team to ensure outgoing shipments are in good condition and meet all specifications and customer requirements, including correct pallet sizes, export pallets, proper roll direction, and specific palletizing instructions.
· Examine and verify shipping documents in coordination with the dispatch team to ensure the packing list aligns with the priority loading list or system-generated due date list, and confirm cargo accuracy before release.
· Analyze the forecasted export demand and plan shipment requirements accordingly, including making export container bookings.
· Organise the dispatch of goods by arranging empty container drop-off, export container collection, and preparing all completed shipping documentation.
· Collect shipping documents from suppliers and partnered logistics providers, authorize priority rail transportation for containers based on urgency, and coordinate with the dispatch team to advise whether containers should be delivered directly or sent to the hub.
Import and Inbound Logistics
· Verify incoming goods against shipping documents and the specified requirement list.
· Arrange air or ocean freight for purchased items received and coordinate internal distribution, including delivery and storage at a local agent’s warehouse or a 3PL warehouse.
Domestic Shipments and Return Logistics
· Book truck space for domestic deliveries or arrange the collection of return rolls from customers.
Documentation and Finance Support
· Maintain prescribed records of goods received and dispatched by reviewing supplier packing slips and verifying them against purchase orders.
· Verifying the dispatch packing list against the sales PO and confirming the shipper, in order to support the finance team in invoicing the customer.
· Review all logistics invoices, verify any additional shipping line surcharges with the sales team, and coordinate with them to bill the customers accordingly.
Team Supervision and General Support
· Supervise a Data Entry Assistant to ensure all documentation and system processes are completed accurately and on time.
· Assist with other tasks or projects as assigned by senior managers.
Skills and Requirements
· A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field; or
· A minimum of three years’ work experience in a related area is required.
· Working from home is not an option
