Security Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, configure, and commission security networks and systems.

• Analyze and monitor network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.

• Identify and resolve network and system issues efficiently.

• Recommend improvements, upgrades, and enhancements for system performance.

• Install, program, and calibrate alarms, access control systems, gate automation, and intercoms.

• Perform installations of audio-visual equipment, including home entertainment systems.

• Configure, check, and guide clients on electric vehicle fast charging systems.

• Replace and troubleshoot Sky TV equipment, including decoders, LNBs, and satellite components.

• Ensure all work complies with safety and industry standards.

• Deliver excellent troubleshooting on all major brands of alarm and CCTV systems.

• Provide clear communication and client support, both verbally and in writing.

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in CCTV, alarm, and intercom installations, or a relevant qualification (NZ Level 4 or higher, or an equivalent overseas qualification).

• Strong problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently.

• Valid driver’s license; willing to travel across the service regions time to time, like in Bay of Plenty, Waikato, up north. 

• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.

• Familiarity with health & safety protocols (advantageous).

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Job Type: Full-time

• Expected Hours: ~30-32 per week

• Schedule: Day shifts; weekend availability required

• Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
