Long term contract for Class 2 or 3 Marine Engineer or Mechanical Fitter with marine experience. Excellent rates offered!
About the role:
This is an opportunity to work on a vessel refurbishment project as part of our client's auditing team. Use your marine engineering knowledge to ensure isolations and controls are are in place and being followed for authorized work onboard vessels.

This will include working closely with Naval personnel and third party Contractors to:
  • Review and audit JSA's to ensure sufficient controls are in place for ongoing and planned work.
  • Witness and verify isolations.
  • Participate in and co-ordinate emergency drills.
  • Ensure all authorized work has completed paperwork and testing before commencing.
  • Monitor ongoing work for any unforeseen risks or hazards.
This role will start ASAP and is likely to run for between 6-12 months depending on workload. You'll enjoy a 4 day work week (between Monday - Saturday) with 10 hour days.

Skills + Experience:
For this role you will need:
  • A Trade Qualification in Marine/Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3 years New Zealand industry work experience - in a marine or similar environment
  • To be process driven
  • Strong communication skills 
  • The ability to work and move at pace in confined spaces
  • A clean criminal record
