Our company is currently seeking two experienced Tilers to join our team for ongoing projects in Auckland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections, measure work areas, and calculate tile requirements, considering patterns and potential material wastage.
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly.
- Remove existing tiles, grout, and cement to create a suitable base for new installations.
- Repair and level uneven walls, floors, and surfaces using appropriate materials
- Select suitable tiles for each project, cut them to the required dimensions, and utilise specialised tools and machinery, including tile cutters and wet saws.
- Apply adhesives to both the tiles and the prepared surfaces, ensuring proper bonding.
- Install tiles with precision, ensuring they are level, correctly aligned, and flush with corners, edges, and fittings.
- Apply grout to joints, remove excess material, and seal tiles to protect against moisture and staining.
- Waterproof in wet areas such as bathrooms and showers.
- Execute decorative and intricate tile designs with attention to detail.
- Polish and finish tiled surfaces to a high standard.
- Utilize tools, machinery, and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety protocols.
Candidate Requirements:
- A minimum of two year experience in tiling or working in construction.
- Physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy lifting everyday.
- Strong communication skills and great attention to details.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various tile types, adhesives.
- Ability to work independently, following instructions as provided.
- Availability to work Monday to Saturday, or weekend when reaching deadline of the projects.
- Strictly commitment to maintaining strict health and safety standards.
Position Details:
- 30 to 40 working hours per week.
- Remuneration: $30 – $35 per hour, depending on experience and expertise.
