Position: Cook

Job duties:

·         Wash, cut, measure and prepare food for cooking

·         Cook food in the menu

·         Portions, arranges, and garnishes food to the required standard

·         Knows proper function, operations, maintenance and cleaning of various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer

·         Operate cooking equipment such as grills, microwaves, and deep-fat fryers

·         Keeps a sanitized and orderly environment as per kitchen sanitation guidelines

·         Ensure kitchen hygiene standards are maintained

·         Assist with inventory and ingredient management

·         Checks food and ingredients for freshness to ensure the quality

·         Ensures all food and other items are stored properly

·         Estimates expected food consumption and organizes preparation

·         Deliver excellent customer service

·         Meets with customers to ensure a great meal experience

·         Assists in planning new dishes

·         Has a positive attitude regarding the job and communicates with management and fellow crew

·         Collaborate with the team to ensure timely service

·         Follows cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures

·         Any other duties the employer may reasonably require the employee to perform 

 

Pay rate: minimum $29.66 / hour   -    maximum $30.00/ hour

 

Guaranteed hours of work per week:  minimum 30 hours

 

Requirements for the job: 

·         A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience

·         Full time availability

·         Able to follow flexible weekly timetable

·         Have knowledge in Asian dish would be advantage

·         Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

·         Be physically fit

·         No criminal record

·         Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents
