A Satvik cook is a person who prepares food following the Satvik diet, which comes from ancient Indian traditions, especially Ayurveda and yogic philosophy. The word Satvik (or Sattvic) means pure, balanced, and harmonious. A Satvik cook aims to make food that supports mental clarity, calmness, health, and spiritual growth.

  • Prepare meals strictly following Satvik (Sattvic) dietary principles from Ayurvedic and yogic traditions.

  • Use only fresh, seasonal, and vegetarian ingredients; avoid onion, garlic, fermented foods, caffeine, and preservatives.

  • Cook in a clean, calm, and spiritually uplifting environment.

  • Plan and execute balanced, nutritious, and spiritually uplifting meal plans.

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.

  • Offer meals in a manner aligned with spiritual or yogic practices.

  • Collaborate with wellness/yoga instructors or retreat leaders to align meals with wellness goals.

  • Ensure food is prepared mindfully, with positive intention and loving energy.

  • Stay updated on Ayurvedic cooking methods and Satvik dietary guidelines.

  • Respect and uphold the spiritual, cultural, or religious values of the community or organization.

 

Requirements of the position offered -  

  • 2 year of work experience or a relevant level 4 qualification  

  • Knowledge of Satvik principles from Ayurveda or yogic traditions.

  • Proven experience in vegetarian cooking, especially without onion, garlic, and other non-sattvic items.

  • Flexibility to work as per the roster, weekends, public holidays 

  • Respect for dietary restrictions, fasting rules, and ritual practices.
