The Role:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Gardener/Lawn Mower to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep of lawns, gardens, and outdoor areas across various client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant, prune, and maintain a wide variety of plants, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns.

  • Prepare soil by aerating, fertilizing, and removing weeds.

  • Ensure the health of plants by identifying pests, diseases, and other plant issues and taking appropriate action.

  • Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns and grassed areas.

  • Maintain garden tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and be able to service and repair mowers for minor faults

  • Design and implement garden layouts, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces &Landscaping when required

  • Water plants and lawns, ensuring optimal growth conditions.

  • Mulch garden beds and ensure proper drainage systems.

  • Maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations, always Following health and safety protocols

  • Lawn mowing using push and ride-on mowers

  • Edging, trimming, and weeding and water blasting

  • Blowing and clearing debris from footpaths and driveways

  • Maintaining garden beds and plant care & Basic Landscaping

  • Operating equipment and machinery safely

  • Loading/unloading equipment and traveling to job sites

Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in grounds maintenance or lawn care

  • Experience using lawn care tools and machinery

  • Good physical fitness and stamina

  • Basic knowledge of plant care and garden maintenance

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team

  • A valid driver’s licence is preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and background check

  • Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand

Location: Whangarei                                                                                                                      Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay Range: $27– $35 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, rotating roster including weekends
