Bakery Assistants

Responsibilities:

• Assist bakers in various aspects of production, including preparing fillings for pies, cleaning utensils and machinery, decorating and packaging bakery products, etc..
• Serve customers, sell bakery goods, and prepare tea, coffee, and other beverages.
• Make sandwiches and filled rolls for sale.
• Answer phones, take orders, and perform basic clerical tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the bakery area.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth workflow.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 months of experience working in a New Zealand bakery or cafe.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand bakery or cafe operations.
• Ability to start work early in the morning
• A quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of sandwich and roll preparation.
• Willingness to assist the management team with bookkeeping work when needed.
• Hospitality-related qualifications are preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, such as moving flour bags.
• Barista experience is preferred.
